Abstract

The implementation of LC/MS to a number of pesticide methods is discussed with reference to compounds such as ethylenethiourea, sulfonylureas, strobilurins, dipyridinyls and triazole fungicides. The challenge of applying LC/MS to trace analytical methods invariably comes down to the elimination of ion suppression and enhancement effects at the LC/MS interface. Techniques such as isotopic dilution, matrix standards, additional clean-up, gradient and mobile phase modifications and extract dilution are reviewed.
